PJ is being raised by his parents who are dead but trapped on Earth because of a curse by PJ's grandparents. Still, he is raised with love and guidance but being raised by ghosts results to him being an outcast. He makes a decision to look for his grandparents once he graduates from elementary. Even if it means leaving his family and friend behind.
