Sandstone Peak in Sta. Monica: Hike for the Heart

The only way to survive this world in one piece is to be nuts as f**k.

The intelligent ones are always on the losing side. Fight stupidity and it's going down to their level. Ignore it and it's being irresponsible.

You're a bitch for not giving a damn. You're a bitch for not caring about others.

That's why escape is necessary. At least, it is for me. Nature, as you may know, provides me the escape I need and the inspiration I sometimes miss.

I am lucky to be living in a country that has taken good care of their mountains. They aren't as pretty as the ones back home but well-maintained and respected.

Sandstone Peak is the highest peak in Sta. Monica. It's a 7-mile hike. It isn't difficult the way Halcon is difficult but difficult for the lazy LAers.

What to expect:

  • a good workout
  • stunning 360 view of Sta. Monica
  • depending on your speed, anywhere between 4 to 7 hours of hike
What to bring:
  • sunscreen and cap because 90% of the trail is uncovered
  • trail food and water
