Going Natural

The decision to go natural is motivated by allergies. My skin doesn’t react well to chemicals. It wasn’t always like that. It started after college. Suddenly, my skin itches whenever I use lotion and my hair fall out after using shampoo.

I didn’t want to be bald and I can’t always have dry skin. After two years of research and experiments, I finally found what works and I am happy to report, it works way better than chemical-based stuff.

Virgin Coconut Oil

Uses:

Moisturizer
I barely wash my face except with water when I take a shower before bed. I apply virgin coconut oil on my face and neck before bed. Black heads was a lifelong problem

Hair product
I rarely shampoo. I usually apply a small amount of Virgin Coconut Oil on my hair before I shower and just let water run through it. About once or twice a week, I apply a generous amount of virgin coconut oil on my hair the night before and shampoo in the morning.

Deodorant
It’s a great deodorant. It also smoothens and whitens the armpits.

Baking Soda

Uses:

Deodorant
I apply a small amount, dry, on days I will do physically heavy activities such as hiking and running or on days I know I will perspire a lot.

Toothpaste
It kills germs and whitens teeth. I use it once every two days.

Odor Eliminator / Cleaning product
I put some on my carpet about ten minutes before vacuuming. I also put some in a pouch which I then put inside pairs of shoes I store. I use to clean tubs, bowls and others.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Facial tonerOn days when I know my skin absorbed a lot of dirt, I mix Apple Cider Vinegar and water and apply it on my face using cotton pad. It let it sit between 10 to 20 minutes. I rinse it with water.

All-Purpose Cleaner
I mix water with Apple Cider Vinegar and my favorite lavander oil. I spray it on windows, tiles and others.

Stomach Soother
I drink it straight when I have stomach aches and indigestion.

Breath Freshener
Way better than Listerine! I add ½ tablespoon to a cup of water, and gargle for 10 to 15 seconds at a time until the cup is empty.

Lemon

Oral Health
I use it pure to stop toothaches, stop bleeding gums, and eliminate bad odors caused by gum diseases or conditions.

 Lighten Age Spots
I don’t have freckles but friends use it to lighten liver spots or freckles. They apply it directly to the affected area and let it sit for 15 minutes and then rinse your skin clean. It’s a safe and effective skin-lightening agent.

Facial Cleanser
Zap zits naturally by dabbing lemon juice on blackheads to draw them out during the day. You can also wash your face with lemon juice for a natural cleanse and exfoliation. Your skin should improve after several days of treatment. Lemon water is also a cooling agent, best way to beat the heat.

Freshen Your Breath
You can gargle or drink pure lemon juice. If you are to gargle it, don’t gargle too long. Lemon has acid that can destroy your teeth’s enamel.

 Remove Warts
Apply lemon directly on the affected area. I keep on doing it until the wart goes away.
